After the sudden release of “Only One” on New Year’s Eve, rapper Kanye West is preparing another high profile Paul McCartney collaboration for release. According to rapper Ty Dolla $ign, another single, featuring Ty, Rihanna and McCartney, is slated for release sometime soon.
After surprising fans with the song on his website, Kanye West has remained tight-lipped about the status of his sense-defying collaboration with the former Beatles star. According to Mr. Dolla $ign, it’s simply the first in a number of big name collaborations which will appear on mr. West’s upcoming album.
Speaking to Billboard, Mr. Dolla $ign discussed the frenetic two day recording process in which nine songs were unceremoniously churned out by the platinum selling Mr. West. “[In] like 24 hours, [we recorded] seven songs or nine songs that day. I was like, ‘I’m here with Kanye, I’m not gonna waste my time.’ They really wanted me to stay for like a week, but I only had like two days, ’cause I was about to start the [Under the Influence of Music] tour.”
And for all you dedicated Kanye fans, here’s another extravagant image to add to the collection, courtesy of Mr. Dolla $ign: “We were in Mexico, at this big house. The back of the house had no walls and no doors; it was just open [and facing] the ocean. You would think he would want the mic enclosed and all that but we just had the doors open, and it came out perfect.”
For ardent rock ‘n’ rollers, the addition of Mr. McCartney to the line up would’ve been a confusing turn of events. Recently appearing in public to spruik a song for a video game (!), the aging, bass-playing Beatle has defied credibility to team up with he new breed of pop stars. “Me, Rihanna, ‘Ye and Paul [McCartney] got a song about to drop as well… It’s gonna drop soon. I heard they shot the video recently. I don’t know what the final title is, but I know it’s crazy so just be looking out for it.”
We sure will…
